Opening paragraph

This walkthrough focuses on what a new player should do during the next Organization Phase and Attack Phase in their first campaign. It gives an immediate, practical checklist you can follow turn to turn and highlights campaign-wide priorities you can rely on. It does not claim a verified, chapter-by-chapter route or a universal difficulty fix — those campaign-specific details are still dependent on faction, mission choices, and event order.

  • Organization: build squads (Leader plus up to five Monsters), equip and assign Support, upgrade strongholds for unit bonuses, recruit from controlled strongholds where available, and send idle Leaders on Exploration for resources, money, and experience.
  • Attack: choose invasions that let you protect your Leaders, read the hex map before committing, use focus attacks on enemy Leaders to force retreats, and be ready to retreat a squad if your Leader is defeated.

  • Story Mode covers the stories of six nations opposing the Neo Abyssloa Empire and is designed around narrative campaigns for those nations. Steam and official sources confirm the six Story nations.
  • Mission Mode lets you select one of 24 nations, each with its own objectives (examples the game lists include Unify the Continent, Strengthen Strongholds, Collect Designated Items, Collect Monsters, Gather Allies, Repay Debts, and Defend Strongholds).
  • This guide does not recommend a specific faction to start with — use the mode and nation whose objectives match how you want to learn the systems.
  • Prepare squads: a squad can have up to five Monsters, and formation is determined by the Leader. Make sure each squad has a clear role (frontline, support, range, etc.).
  • Protect Leaders: remember that if a Leader is defeated, the entire squad is forced to retreat — avoid exposing Leaders unnecessarily.
  • Strongholds: upgrade strongholds with materials to gain unit bonuses. Recruit Leaders and Monsters at strongholds where recruitment is available; the official source describes recruitment separately from upgrade benefits.
  • Explorations: send idle Leaders on Explorations to gain resources, money, and experience.
  • Recruit and equip: recruit from controlled strongholds where available, equip Monsters and Leaders with what you can afford, and assign the Support command when a Leader should gain the Support/Rally ability of one Monster in the squad.
  • Class change: units can Class Change when they reach a certain level; watch unit levels and plan long-term progression (this guide does not list exact level thresholds).
  • Pick smart invasions: Attack Phases are used to invade neighboring nations for resources or personnel. Read the hex map and mission objectives before committing.
  • Protect your Leaders: focus enemy formations so your Leaders are not isolated; if an enemy focuses your Leader you risk a squad retreat.
  • Focus enemy Leaders: targeting an enemy Leader can force their squad to retreat if you overwhelm them — use this to end threats quickly.
  • Retreat and timing: be ready to withdraw a squad if the Leader is at risk, since a defeated Leader forces retreat and can cascade into losing a front.
  • Terrain and hex control: battles are on a hex grid — use positioning and formation to exploit chokepoints and protect vulnerable units.
  • Secure a safe growth loop: use Organization Phases to build a set of dependable squads, upgrade at least one stronghold for steady bonuses, and keep a Leader or two dedicated to Explorations for steady resources.
  • Balance recruitment and training: recruit when you can and rotate Monsters into combat so they gain experience for Class Change opportunities.
  • Protect your leadership: a Leader downed in battle forces squad retreat — plan formations and avoid overextending your Leaders early.
  • Use Support and formations: the Support command and Leader-determined formations are central to maximizing squad effectiveness.

Check these bounded areas rather than looking for a single guaranteed fix:

  • Squad roles: does each squad have a clear frontline or support role, and is the Leader appropriate for that role?
  • Formation and Command Points: confirm formations and whether your Leader is using Support/Rally effectively; reposition to reduce exposure.
  • Equipment: are your Monsters and Leaders equipped with available gear?
  • Stronghold growth: are you upgrading strongholds to get unit bonuses and taking advantage of recruitment options from controlled strongholds?
  • Quests and Explorations: send idle Leaders on Explorations and complete quests where available to gain resources, money, and experience.
  • Leader safety: avoid unnecessary risks to Leaders; if a Leader falls, their squad is forced to retreat which can snowball.

None of these checks guarantees recovery in every campaign — they are practical places to look first.

  • Official sources confirm Story Mode has six nations with narrative campaigns and Mission Mode presents 24 selectable nations, each with unique objectives.
  • Mission objectives the game lists include Unify the Continent, Strengthen Strongholds, Collect Designated Items, Collect Monsters, Gather Allies, Repay Debts, and Defend Strongholds.

Use the Organization Phase to set up squads (Leader + up to five Monsters), equip units, upgrade strongholds for unit bonuses, recruit from controlled strongholds where available, and send idle Leaders on Explorations.

How do Organization and Attack phases work?

Section titled “How do Organization and Attack phases work?”

Organization Phases are for preparing troops, managing strongholds, recruitment, equipment, and Explorations. Attack Phases let you invade neighboring nations for resources or personnel and resolve battles on a hex grid.

Use formations that shelter the Leader (formation is determined by the Leader), keep frontline units between enemies and your Leader, and avoid exposing Leaders to focused enemy fire — a defeated Leader forces the whole squad to retreat.

Is there a full, verified route I can follow?

Section titled “Is there a full, verified route I can follow?”

No. This guide provides first-turn and campaign priorities but does not offer a verified chapter-by-chapter route or guaranteed difficulty solution.

Some players have reported a 30-season Story Mode limit in launch-window discussion, but that is a player report and not confirmed as an official rule.
